    As you will soon see for yourself North Yorkshire is a haven for golf lovers- with ample courses in picturesque settings. All courses come highly recommended for all levels of expertise – but we have to say some are more challenging than other we have hi-lighted our favourites



    York Golf Course

    York Golf Club, situated 5 miles north of the historic city of York, is a serene blend of parkland and heathland - known as a lowland heath style.

    The tree lined course has undulating rather than steep fairways and there is a definite emphasis on natural beauty rather than artificial features With the course measuring 6,290 yards (mens competition tees) and 5,627 yards (ladies tees) York offers a fair challenge to all levels of golfer..

     

    Easingwold Golf Course

    Over 15,000 mature trees and water coming into play on several holes- Easingwold is an outstanding example of woodland & heath gold course at its best. Wide, forgiving fairways which nonetheless punish the most wayward of drives

     

    Malton & Norton Golf Course

    Again- not far away at from Honeysuckle Cottage is the 27 hole, easy walking, parkland course, offering ultimate flexibility with three loops of nine all leading back at the clubhouse. Some would commend the forgiving nature of the layout, Malton and Norton nevertheless asks all the right questions to test even the most demanding golfer. Maintained to the highest possible standards, the course will not disappoint.

     

     

    Shooting

    North Yorkshire has a long standing tradition when it comes to shooting. Dishforth Shooting Club in near by Thixendale is a fun day out whether you’re a beginner or expert- this is what they have to say “We've seen it all before and we will go at your pace. We want to share our love of Clay Pigeon Shooting with you, we think that once you hit your first clay you won't want to stop ! We have everything you need for shooting, club guns, safety wear (eye wear, ear protection and hats), shooting vests and trained volunteers. If you're returning from a break in shooting, we hope to reignite your flame for this glorious sport, we can give you everything you need to get back on the stands successfully, with helpful guidance and a great community of shooters.
